Chief Minister Lalduhoma today inaugurated the new Deputy Commissioner’s office building at Siaha.
K. Hrahmo, MLA of Palak constituency, and other government officials were also present.
Conveying his joy at being able to inaugurate the new Deputy Commissioner’s office, one of the most important government offices in the district, the Chief Minister said, “This is a landmark development not only for Siaha district but for the entire Mizoram.”
He also expressed his gratitude to those who donated their land and property without expecting any compensation, which made it possible to establish the DC office at such a prime and central location.
The Chief Minister stated that the Mizoram Government is undertaking massive development works for the progress of Siaha district. Some of which include:
Construction of Government Quarters (General Pool) – inside Additional DC Quarters , Government Quarters (General Pool) – outside Additional DC Quarters, Government Quarters (General Pool) – Additional DC Quarters (Type-III), Government Quarters (General Pool) (Type-III Quarters, 4 Units) at Meisavaih Site-I, Government Quarters (General Pool) (Type-III Quarters, 4 Units) at Meisavaih Site-II, Circuit House at Siaha, and SDO(C) Office & Quarters at Tipa. He also highlighted several other ongoing projects in the district under various Central Government schemes.
Lalduhoma further stated that since Mizoram got its own Finance Commission, both the State Government and ADCs and other local bodies have been functioning as per their allotted share, and cannot exceed it.
Expressing concern over the current financial hardship faced by the MADC, he announced that the government intends to provide a one time grant to help ease their burden.
He stressed the importance of concerted efforts for the development of the district and its people, and urged that the Mizoram Government’s plans be effectively supported to ensure a strong and stable administration in the MADC.
The DC office building was constructed with funding from NEDP. The work order amount is Rs. 5,09,08,023. Construction began on October 31, 2018 and was completed on December 1, 2025. The building has 17 rooms on the ground floor and 12 rooms on the first floor, totaling 29 rooms.
