Mizoram marked a new milestone in leisure and recreation on Independence Day, as Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma formally inaugurated the H&B Water Park at Liando Resorts, Sakawrtuichhun. The facility, developed by the family of Pu R. Tlanghmingthanga, is being hailed as the state’s first large-scale, modern water park—bringing home an experience that residents of Mizoram had until now sought outside the state. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Lalduhoma expressed his delight at the addition of the park to Mizoram’s tourism and entertainment landscape. “For years, families here have had to travel to other states to enjoy such modern facilities. It is a matter of pride and happiness that we now have a water park of our own, comparable to some of the best in the North-East,” he said, adding that the project reflects both private initiative and community aspiration.

The Chief Minister noted that the park would not only provide recreation for families and children but also strengthen the state’s efforts to promote wellness and quality of life. With Mizoram steadily working to boost tourism and attract more visitors, he said the facility could also become a popular attraction for domestic tourists. During the programme, Pu R. Liansangkima delivered a brief technical account of how the project came into being. He recalled that the idea first emerged nearly a decade ago during a family visit to Nicco Park’s ‘Wet n Wild’ in Kolkata. “What began as a thought gradually took shape through years of planning. After five years of preparation, today we are proud to see that dream turn into reality,” he said. Liansangkima emphasized that the park had been built for the benefit of the people of Mizoram and expressed hope that it would serve as a space for relaxation, bonding, and well-being.

The H&B Water Park features modern rides and attractions designed to provide safe entertainment for people of all ages. While the facility had been soft-launched earlier this year, Friday’s event marked its official dedication by the Chief Minister, with dignitaries, community members, and families in attendance.
