Medanta – The Medicity, recently recognized as India’s Best Private Hospital by Newsweek for six consecutive years, has launched a year-long campaign titled “JaantaHaiMedanta” aimed at raising awareness and promoting action against cancer across India. The initiative begins with a focus on Breast Cancer, which constitutes one in four cancers among women worldwide. Highlighting the urgent need for early detection, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, said, “Cancer care must be evidence-based, humane, and accessible. We leverage cutting-edge technologies and medical research to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care, regardless of their stage of disease.”
As part of the campaign, Medanta introduced “AaoDekhoSeekho” kiosks—first-of-its-kind setups designed to educate women on performing proper self-breast examinations. Group CEO Pankaj Sahni emphasized, “‘JaantaHaiMedanta’ represents our promise of understanding and walking alongside patients through every step of their journey.”
The campaign has been welcomed by local healthcare professionals and residents, who see it as a significant step toward improving awareness about cancer prevention and early detection. Hospitals and wellness centers in the city are expected to collaborate with Medanta’s outreach programs to make screening and educational resources more accessible to the community. Medanta plans to extend the campaign to other cancers in the coming months and has launched a dedicated Northeast Helpline, currently operating in Assamese, Nagamese, English, and Hindi, with plans to include Bengali and Mizo.
