In response to recent hailstorms and prevailing low-pressure conditions in Mizoram, the state government has mandated that all Deputy Commissioners maintain heightened preparedness by activating the District Emergency Operation Centres (DEOCs) immediately. The meteorological forecasts predict widespread light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across Northeast India, with wind speeds possibly reaching 30–50 km/h in various locations. This unstable weather system is expected to bring intermittent rainfall, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorm events throughout Mizoram in the coming days.

Furthermore, recent warnings from meteorological authorities suggest the probability of moderate rainfall (5–15 mm/hr), along with thunderstorms and gusty winds in certain districts. These conditions may cause localized waterlogging, increase slippery road hazards, disrupt traffic flow, and pose risks to vulnerable structures and standing crops. Consequently, district authorities are urged to prioritize necessary actions, including immediate damage assessments, provision of relief assistance, implementation of preventive measures, effective public communication, and ongoing monitoring of weather updates.
