Assam Chief Secretary, Ravi Kota on Thursday held a meeting with Sumit Sharan to review border management and discuss evolving security challenges in Assam and the Northeast.
The meeting focused on the changing political situation in neighbouring countries and the security complexities posed by diverse border terrains across the region.
Officials also discussed the need to strengthen infrastructure at border check-posts and enhance co-ordination between the state administration and border guarding forces to ensure effective border governance.
The interaction highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the Assam government and the Border Security Force in maintaining security and stability along sensitive border areas in Assam and the wider Northeast region.
The discussions come amid growing emphasis on improving border surveillance, infrastructure, and administrative preparedness in strategically important frontier areas.
