According to the source, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss a number of state-related issues, including the situation following the flood. According to a Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) official in Agartala, Saha and Amit Shah talked about the state’s post-flood relief operations and the development strategy. Earlier this week, the chief minister of Tripura stated that he is in contact with the central government on post-flood relief, and the cash will be released by the center following the conclusion of formalities.

Speaking at Rabindra Bhavan’s Flood Relief and Management Programme, Saha stated that the government had established 889 relief camps and that around 17 lakh people had been impacted by the devastating flood that occurred in August of last year. Additionally, approximately 4 lakh people had been relocated to secure shelters. In addition to 58,687 houses being damaged, the flood and landslides claimed the lives of at least 38 individuals. According to him, the state inflicted damages of almost Rs 15,000 crore as a result of the terrible flood.

The contributions of numerous nonprofit organizations and other groups during this crisis were likewise recognized and valued by the chief minister. The Chief Minister added that around 5,600 flood-affected families had received assistance from the non-governmental organization “Abhoy Mission” and its related organizations. During their tour to Tripura, the Inter-Ministerial Central Team examined the damage and conditions in several areas. The Chief Minister went on to say that Rs 564 crore had been set aside to deal with the catastrophe, including money from the state exchequer.
