The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized an MSME Townhall meeting in Aizawl on Friday, bringing together entrepreneurs, bankers, govt officials and development institutions to discuss ways to improve access to institutional finance for small businesses in Mizoram.
The programme was inaugurated by T. Lhungdim, General Manager (O-i-C), RBI Aizawl, who highlighted the vital role of MSMEs in employment generation, entrepreneurship development and inclusive economic growth.
He emphasized the importance of improving access to formal finance and strengthening the MSME ecosystem in Mizoram.
Other speakers included Lalhriatpuia, Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl, Lalhmunsiama Additional Director, Commerce and Industries Department, Bhaskar Manta GM OIC NABARD, Sheryl L Vanchhong, Chairperson, MRB and Pu Harshad Kuware, Asst Director, DFO – MSME.
The Townhall Meeting included sessions on various issues in the MSME financing landscape, RBI, Central and State Government initiatives, taken by representatives from the State Bank of India, Mizoram Rural Bank, Banks and Ministry of MSME.
A major highlight of the day was an interactive Q&A session conducted by Harish Vedi, AGM and Lalrosiama, Manager, RBI Aizawl. The question-and-answer session enabled participants to interact directly with officials from banks and institutions, seek clarifications on credit-related issues and explore available support mechanisms for enterprise growth.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from MSME entrepreneurs, bankers, government departments and other stakeholders.
