Yellow alert issued in certain areas of Chandigarh
The Chandigarh regional Meteorological department has announced a yellow alert for several districts, including Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, and Patiala, due to anticipated heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.In the previous month, Chandigarh experienced 213 mm of rainfall, which is 37 percent above the normal levels, resulting in significant waterlogging throughout the city. Additionally, in Haryana, yellow alerts have been declared for Karnal, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, and Jind, while an orange alert has been issued for Ambala for July 2.
Shimla rainfall to continue
The meteorological department has issued a warning regarding potential surface run-off or flooding that could take place in areas with fully saturated soils and low-lying regions as a result of the ongoing rainfall. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is highly probable in various parts of the state on July 2, 3, 6, and 7, as well as in numerous locations on July 4 and 5.
Overcast conditions are anticipated in Delhi
Currently, there are no warnings for the Delhi-NCR region, and the weather is forecasted to be predominantly cloudy, with light to very light rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning. The maximum temperature is projected to range from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may vary between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. There will be no occurrence of heat wave conditions.
