Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has inaugurated a new dealership—Gargya Toyota—in Guwahati, Assam. The move underscores Toyota’s strategic alignment with national policies aimed at integrating Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets into the formal automotive economy.
The newly launched 5,100 sq. ft. 1S (sales) facility, located at GS Road, Dispur, will offer Toyota’s entire product range—from utility-focused models like the Hilux and Urban Cruiser Hyryder to advanced hybrids such as the Camry and Vellfire. In addition, Toyota U-Trust services at the outlet will facilitate the organized exchange, purchase, and sale of used cars—supporting formalization and transparency in the pre-owned vehicle segment.
In Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, consumer trends indicate a rising demand for hybrid and multi-utility vehicles, especially among upwardly mobile households and small businesses. However, access limitations and logistical bottlenecks have constrained full market participation. With the Guwahati dealership acting as a regional anchor, the Aizawl market stands to benefit from improved product availability, service support, and reduced lead times. This expansion takes TKM’s national network to 1,243 touchpoints, reinforcing policy goals of regional inclusion and sustainable mobility access.
