The Young Mizo Association (CYMA), which is the largest civil society organization in Mizoram, has urged the Mizoram government to take action against a possible influx from the neighboring state of Assam. With a membership exceeding 4 lakh, the YMA convened a meeting to deliberate on strategies to curb illegal entry from Assam. The committee has called on the state government to adopt proactive measures and to exercise caution in the issuance of the Inner Line Permit (ILP), a necessary travel document for individuals wishing to enter protected areas. The CYMA has instructed its sub-headquarters, local groups, and branches to maintain vigilance.
