The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended another significant suspect linked to the horrific m*rder of three women and three children in Jiribam, Manipur, in 2024, as reported by officials on August 1.
“This arrest follows closely after the apprehension of another suspect, Thanglienlal Hmar, by a collaborative team from the NIA and Assam police yesterday, also in Aizawl,” stated the announcement from the investigative agency.
On July 31, the NIA detained Lalrosang Hmar, also known as Rosang, from Moinathol village, along with Dilkhosh Grant from Cachar, Assam, in Aizawl, Mizoram.
The militants abducted and brutally killed three women and three children in the Borebekra region of Jiribam district, Manipur, on November 11 of the previous year, as indicated in the report.
The remains were disposed of in the Barak River. Similar to Thanglienlal, Lalrosang was also a key conspirator in this atrocious act, according to the NIA.
The NIA has retrieved a mobile phone and a SIM card from him, which are currently under examination as part of the ongoing investigation into the case, the statement added.
