Mizoram Governor Gen V K Singh has imposed Governor’s rule in the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) due to its constant political instability. The Lalduhoma-led Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government has criticized Singh for undermining democratic norms. The CADC has seen two mass defections and two no-confidence motions since its current term began in 2023. The ZPM staked claim to its leadership after the BJP was voted out of the CADC leadership.
