Bengaluru cafe blast case: Several customers and hotel staff were injured in a blast at a popular Bengaluru cafe on March 1.

Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency said on Friday morning that two people who planned and carried out the blast at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram cafe last month have been arrested from Kanthi in Bengal’s East Midnapore district. Musawir Hussain Shazeb and Abdul Mathin Taha were caught after a joint operation by central intelligence agencies and police of Bengal, Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala and are on their way to Kolkata, the counter-terrorism agency said in a statement.

Available evidence indicated that Shazeb had placed the explosive device inside a backpack at the popular eatery. Taha was responsible for planning the attack and their disappearance.

These are the second and third arrests in this case; Last month Muzammil Sharif, who provided logistics support to Shazeb and Taha, was taken into custody.
