The weather office has issued a heatwave warning in five districts of South Bengal as of Wednesday. Mars will have hot and uncomfortable weather. However, five districts of North Bengal, including Jalpaiguri, may experience storms on Tuesday as well. Thunderstorms will follow. Meteorologists said that the temperature may increase by two to four degrees in the next few days in various districts of South Bengal, including Kolkata. Heat wave conditions will develop in Purulia, Jhargram, Bankura, West Burdwan, and West Medinipur starting Wednesday.

The temperature in those districts will touch 40 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain uncomfortable in all other districts. On Monday, the temperature touched 40 degrees in Bankura, Bishnupur, Medinipur, and Panagarh cities of the state. Of which, Panagad had the highest temperature, 41.7 degrees Celsius. The weather office said that there is no chance of rain anywhere in South Bengal.

It is to be noted that Jalpaiguri, Mainaguri, and Dhupaguri were destroyed in just a few minutes of cyclone on Sunday afternoon. Five people died. The number of injured is hundreds. Many people have become homeless. Jalpaiguri, which was ravaged by that storm, is also expected to receive rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduar may also get wet. According to the bulletin of the Alipore weather office, gusty winds of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely to occur in five north districts, including Jalpaiguri, on Tuesday. Also, light to moderate rainfall may occur in some areas.

Common people have been asked to be careful of lightning. However, weather forecasters have also said that the weather in North Bengal will change on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury in Kolkata city is increasing on Tuesday as well. Temperatures rose slightly on Tuesday compared to Monday. The maximum temperature in Kolkata on Monday was 37.1 degrees Celsius. The Alipur Meteorological Department said it may increase to close to 38 degrees on Tuesday.
