
Kolkata: Tea exports from India in FY 2024-25 rose by 2.85 per cent as compared to the previous fiscal, according to official data.
Tea exports from the country rose from 250.73 million kg to 257.88 million kg.
According to the latest data from the Tea Board, the export volume from North India reached 161.20 million kg during FY 2024-25, showing a growth of 8.15 per cent from 149.05 million kg in FY 2023-24.
Similarly, exports from South India declined by 4.92 per cent to 96.68 million kg in 2024-25 from 101.68 million kg in the previous fiscal, according to the data.
The value of tea exports per kg increased to Rs 290.97, showing a growth of 12.65 per cent from Rs 258.30 in FY 2023-24.
During the calendar year January to December 2024, the volume of tea exports reached 256.17 million kg, registering a growth of 10.57 per cent over the previous period of January to December 2023.
During the calendar year 2024, exports from North India stood at 155.49 million kg, while from South India it stood at 100.68 million kg, showing a growth of 10.28 per cent and 11.02 per cent, respectively, the Board data said.
