Mizoram Governor Gen VK Singh and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Tripathi jointly flagged off the ‘Soldierathon’ marathon in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan on Sunday morning, drawing participation from nearly 4,000 runners.
The event, themed ‘Run with Soldiers, Run for Soldiers’, aimed to pay tribute to the sacrifices of India’s martyrs and wounded warriors. The marathon brought together civilians and soldiers, promoting fitness while fostering a deep sense of pride and solidarity with the armed forces.
Speaking at the event, Admiral Tripathi said, “This is a great initiative that inspires people to stay fit. The energy and excitement among runners is commendable.”
Gen VK Singh emphasized the significance of public participation, stating, “We ensure maximum soldier participation while also encouraging the general public, especially youth, to run alongside them.”
