SMFG India Credit Co. Ltd., a leading name in India’s Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sector, has reached a major milestone with the inauguration of its 1000th branch in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. To commemorate this achievement, the company collaborated with India Post to release a Special Cover & My Stamp. The event was graced by Mr. YAGI Koji, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, and Mr. Abhijeet Bansode, Director – Postal Services (HQ) Maharashtra Circle, alongside SMFG India Credit’s CEO & MD, Mr. Shantanu Mitra.

This milestone is a testament to SMFG India Credit’s rapid expansion, particularly into underpenetrated markets. Over the past two years, the company has opened nearly 300 branches, with 95% located in Tier-2 cities and semi-rural areas.

The company’s presence in Aizawl has significantly boosted financial access in the region, with local markets witnessing enhanced economic activities as more individuals gain access to formal credit.“Our 1000th branch represents our commitment to enabling financial independence across India,” said Mr. Mitra. “The Special Cover & My Stamp release marks our journey and growth in the financial services sector.”
