Finally, Mrunal Thakur has responded to the circulating rumors that she is romantically involved with Tamil actor Dhanush. Following several sightings of the two together, the rumors of a fresh romance in Bollywood and Kollywood circles grew. The actress has come out to correct the record, though. Mrunal dismissed the relationship allegations in a recent interview, which Only Kollywood mentioned, focusing instead on their friendship. “Dhanush is just a good friend to me,” she stated, dismissing the reports as baseless and trivial. Being conscious of the media attention, she referred to the rumors as “funny” and maintained that they were not romantically involved.
To further clarify, Mrunal disclosed that Dhanush did not attend the Son of Sardaar 2 screening since she was invited. Dhanush went to see Son of Sardaar 2. That should not be misinterpreted. She clarified that Ajay Devgn was the one who invited him, dispelling any misunderstandings over her involvement in the actor’s participation. When Mrunal was spotted at the wrap-up celebration for Tere Ishq Mein, the next movie starring Dhanush and Aanand L Rai, the rumors began to spread. Furthermore, the pair shared a fleeting moment during the Son of Sardaar 2 screening, which went viral online and stoked more rumors. Even though both actors have kept their personal life private, Mrunal’s recent Instagram following of Dhanush’s sisters fueled more rumors. In 2022, Dhanush ended his 18-year marriage to director Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. Yatra and Linga are the couple’s two children.
Although fans are still interested in Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s relationship, the actress’s comment essentially puts the speculations to rest, at least for the time being.
