With the 12th General Election to the Lai Autonomous District Council approaching, election officials in Mizoram underwent a detailed training session on November 23 to strengthen preparedness and ensure a smooth electoral process. The specialised training was conducted at the DRDO Conference Hall for officials assigned to handle sensitive election materials. District Election Officer Donny Lalruatsanga supervised the programme and underscored the importance of accuracy and discipline in all election-related duties. Addressing the participants, he noted that even minor mistakes in dispatching or receiving election materials can disrupt the entire voting process.
He urged officials to work with utmost care and maintain the highest levels of transparency. Lalruatsanga reminded the teams that they play a crucial role in upholding the integrity of the elections. He emphasised that the dispatch and receiving units form the backbone of the electoral system, particularly in district council polls where logistical coordination is key. He called on officials to approach their tasks with dedication, vigilance, and full awareness of their responsibilities.
The training included detailed instructions on operational procedures, prohibited activities, and mandatory guidelines to be followed while handling election materials. Master Trainer Gilbert Lalhlimpuia and Election Officer Collin Hlychho led the technical sessions, guiding participants through each step required for error-free execution on polling day.
