Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh led a combined celebration of the foundation days of Bihar, Rajasthan, Odisha and Himachal Pradesh at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan in Aizawl. The programme was organised under the Centre’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.Addressing the gathering, the Governor said it was a matter of pride to celebrate the foundation days of four different states together. He highlighted that each state has its own identity, culture and strengths, and has made steady progress over the years. “Each state is unique and excels in its own way. They possess immense potential,” he said.

He added that such programmes help people understand each other’s traditions and bring citizens closer. Stressing on national unity, he said India’s diversity is its biggest strength and will play a key role in building a developed nation by 2047. The event was presided over by Pi Lalhruaitluangi, Additional Private Secretary to the Governor, who explained the aim of the programme. Video messages from the Governors of the four states were screened, along with short films showing their history and development.

Representatives from the four states shared brief presentations. Among them were Dr Saurav Suman from Bihar and Dr Nidhi Yadav from Rajasthan, both Assistant Professors at NIT Mizoram, Prof Pravakar Rath from Odisha, Pro Vice Chancellor of Mizoram University, and Ms Sonali from Himachal Pradesh, a student of the College of Veterinary Sciences in Mizoram. Students from Mizoram University, NIT Mizoram and Government Mizoram Law College presented cultural dances and folk songs, adding colour to the event. After the programme, the Governor interacted with participants and guests.
