Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, along with the First Lady, Bharti Singh, hosted members of the Aizawl West-I Area Masihi Sangati of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church at the Lok Bhavan on Friday evening for a joyous Christmas Carol Service. In his address, General Singh described Christmas as a festival cherished universally by people across all communities and regions. He emphasised that the occasion provides an opportunity to open our hearts, extend blessings to others, generously support those in need, and bring happiness to fellow human beings.

Highlighting the spirit of compassion and empathy, he observed that the traditional Mizo value of Tlawmngaihna — selfless service and willingness to help others — perfectly embodies the true essence of Christmas, creating a beautiful harmony with the broader spirit of community. The Governor also expressed hope that the upcoming Christmas season would usher in not only peace and tranquillity but also greater unity among all people.

During the service, Rev. Lalhunthara, in-charge of the Aizawl West-I Area Masihi Sangati, delivered a message. The congregation members, joined by the Standing Choir, presented a selection of beautiful Christmas carols that greatly enhanced the festive and joyous atmosphere.

As a token of appreciation, the congregation presented Christmas gifts to the Governor and the First Lady. In reciprocation, the Governor and First Lady expressed their deep gratitude to the members of the Aizawl West-I Area Masihi Sangati for attending the event and warmly presented gifts to them in return.
