Mizoram’s Chief Secretary has mandated all Deputy Commissioners to rigorously oversee the stock of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrol, and diesel, alongside implementing measures to thwart black marketing, hoarding, and diversion of these essential commodities. This directive arises from a meeting that included officials from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CA), Deputy Commissioners, and representatives from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). During the meeting, all involved Deputy Commissioners reported adequate stock levels of LPG and petrol/diesel within their districts. The meeting followed one convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Ministers and Chief Secretaries from all states, focusing on the supply and distribution systems for these fuels. The Government of India, particularly through the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), is vigilantly overseeing the supply of LPG and petroleum products nationwide. The MoPNG has also advised state governments to enforce stringent supervision and ongoing monitoring of these essential goods to avert any potential shortages in any region.
