The scrutiny process for the 2-Dampa (ST) Assembly Constituency by-election, held on November 11, was successfully completed on Wednesday under the supervision of General Observer M.T. Reju, IAS, at the office of Returning Officer Malsawmzuala.

The session was attended by Assistant Returning Officers and election agents representing the contesting candidates. During the proceedings, Returning Officer Malsawmzuala briefed attendees on the scrutiny procedures as outlined by the Election Commission of India under Form 17A. He confirmed that no complaints had been lodged regarding the polling process. Voting at Bawlte Polling Station, which was briefly disrupted due to a VVPAT replacement, had resumed smoothly, he added.

General Observer M.T. Reju commended the cooperation of all stakeholders involved in the by-election. He encouraged election agents to raise any pending issues while appreciating the collective efforts that contributed to a free, fair, and peaceful election. According to official data, voter participation remained strong across the constituency. Hruiduk Polling Station recorded the highest turnout at 93.09%, while Zopui Polling Station reported the lowest at 75.86%, demonstrating active engagement from voters across Dampa.
