In Champhai town, which is close to the Myanmar border, an unfortunate lightning strike on Tuesday night entirely demolished a house. Around 6:30 p.m., during a thunderstorm, the tragic event took place in the border town’s Electric Veng district. Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries; nonetheless, the lightning strike unfortunately killed a number of domestic animals. The Champhai fire department and emergency services were promptly alerted to the incident involving the lightning strike.
A nearby person named Lalhmunliani owned the impacted home, which was swiftly consumed by fire as a result of the lightning strike. An already disastrous scenario was made worse by the explosion of two cooking gas cylinders, which made it impossible for the firefighters to put out the fire quickly with the help of neighborhood volunteers. Reports state that this fire claimed the lives of 23 hens and two pigs, totaling over Rs 9,42,000 in losses. Additionally, Rs 11,33,950 is the estimated total loss after currency worth Rs 1,91,950 was burned to ashes.
