Mizoram celebrated Christmas peacefully this year, with no major law and order issues reported across the state. Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Lalbiakthanga Khiangte highlighted a notable decline in crime rates compared to previous festive seasons.

While minor incidents, such as 22 burglary cases and two instances of illegal firecracker sales, were recorded between December 24 and December 29 in the Aizawl region, authorities praised citizens for their cooperation and adherence to laws. In addition, 47 individuals were apprehended for traffic violations during the festive period, and three cases of unnatural deaths were reported. Despite these occurrences, the overall situation remained calm, reflecting effective security measures and public awareness.

The police have implemented comprehensive plans to maintain law and order as the state prepares for New Year celebrations. Khiangte expressed optimism about ensuring a smooth transition into 2025, thanking residents for their responsible behavior during the Christmas festivities.
