Mizoram Blind Football Team emerged champions of the Greater Lion’s Vision Cup 2025, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament held in Siliguri, North Bengal. The prestigious event took place on November 8 and 9, featuring teams from Jharkhand, Nagaland, Mizoram, and West Bengal. Organized by the Football Association for the Blind in Bengal (FABB) in collaboration with the Lions Club of Siliguri Greater, the tournament was held under the acknowledgment of the Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF). Matches were conducted in a league format, with the top two teams—Mizoram and West Bengal—advancing to the final.

Representing the Mizoram Blind Sports Association (MBSA), the Mizoram team entered the final without a single defeat and went on to claim the championship title with a decisive 3–0 victory over West Bengal. Team captain Shimon Chorei led from the front, scoring a hat-trick in the final. His outstanding performance earned him the titles of Man of the Tournament and Top Scorer, having netted six goals across all matches. The victory marks a proud moment in Mizoram’s football history, arriving a decade after the state’s triumph in the Santosh Trophy. Remarkably, the winning goal in that historic Santosh Trophy final was also scored by a blind player—a symbolic link celebrated by local fans.

Upon their return to Sairang, the champions received a warm welcome from MBSA officials and supporters. A celebratory feast was hosted at the residence of MBSA Senior Vice President Pu R. Lalramthanga. During the event, MBSA President Tv. Lalrampana expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fans and supporters who continue to uplift and celebrate blind football in Mizoram.
