According to Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Thenzawl, the census town of Mizoram, which is situated in the Serchhip district, will be transformed into a “peace city” that can accommodate roughly 10 lakh people. Lalduhoma went on to say that he has already spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the proposal and that he is hopeful that the Center will provide funding for the project. The chief minister was speaking at a Young Mizo Association (YMA) Vantawng group conference in Buangpui village, Serchhip district.

In the northeastern state, the YMA is the biggest civil society organization. About 10 lakh people will live in the proposed peace city (Muanna Khawpui), according to Lalduhoma. Lalduhoma was elected in the 2018 and 2023 assembly elections from the Serchhip constituency, which includes the census town of Thenzawl, which is roughly 90 kilometers from Aizawl. It is home to the state’s only golf course, deer park, and Vantawng Fall, the highest waterfall in the state. It is also a hub for the traditional Mizo handloom industry.

In order to draw more tourists, Lalduhoma stated that his government would soon build a ropeway in Vantawng Fall. He stated that the administration prioritizes moral reformation and will keep taking action in this area, pointing out that the state government has been working very hard to reduce drug misuse. He praised civil society organizations, especially the YMA, as government partners in the battle against drug abuse and in bringing social reformation and social security.
