Methamphetamine tablets worth Rs 33.18 crore were seized from Kaifang village near the Indo-Myanmar border in Mizoram’s Saitual district during a joint operation carried out by Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police on Saturday.
One person, identified as Hasan Ali from Badapur in Assam, has been arrested in this connection. A vehicle allegedly used by the accused from transporting the drugs has also been seized.
Meth is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant primarily used illegally for its intense euphoric effects.
