Manipal Hospitals, one of India’s leading integrated healthcare providers, has strengthened its healthcare commitment in Mizoram and the Northeast, marking over 15 years of clinical excellence and outreach in the region. With five superspecialty hospitals in Kolkata under its network—following the integration of AMRI and Medica Superspecialty Hospitals—Manipal has emerged as a vital gateway for advanced medical care for patients from Mizoram.
Over the years, more than 15,000 patients from Mizoram have received treatment under Manipal’s care, including 70+ successful kidney transplants at Medica with a 95% success rate. The group has collaborated with Aizawl Hospital & Research Centre since 2017 to conduct outreach clinics in specialties such as neurosurgery, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, nephrology, and endocrinology.
In Aizawl, the growing demand for accessible superspecialty care has led to a positive shift, with more residents choosing in-state consultations through Manipal’s regular OPDs. This localized access has reduced outbound medical travel and increased awareness of chronic disease management.
The current visit includes collaboration with Civil Hospital Aizawl and scientific sessions with the Association of Physicians of India, Mizoram, aimed at exchanging clinical expertise across specialties to further enhance healthcare outcomes in the region.
