India stood by the side of war-torn Palestine. A total of 20 crores of rupees of aid were sent to the United Nations Relief Fund. A total of 41 crore rupees was planned to be given by India to the Palestinians in the current financial year. The first installment of that donation was sent on Tuesday. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency has been working for Palestinian refugees since 1950.
The main purpose of this organization is to be with the people who are upset because of the Israel-Hamas war. India has been donating funds to this organization for a long time. As of last fiscal year, India has provided a total of $35 million in financial assistance to Palestinian refugees. This year, India has pledged to send $5 million in aid to UN agencies. This amount in Indian currency is more than 41 crore rupees.
The first part of the donation has been sent, said a representative of the organization’s Indian office in Ramallah. It is to be noted that recently, in the session of this organization, India said that apart from financial support, medicines will also be sent to the Palestinians. More humanitarian aid will also be sent. Despite the request of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, New Delhi has assured to stand by.
It should be noted that large areas of Palestine, including Gaza, have been in turmoil since last October. The death toll has crossed 38 thousand. Hospitals are overflowing with dead bodies. The number of injured is increasing day by day. Humanitarian India stood by Palestine in this situation.
