Preparations are underway for the inaugural NCC Fest and Parasailing Camp in Mizoram, scheduled from May 5 to 11, aimed at youth empowerment and nation-building. Colonel Sagar K. Mohanty, Commanding Officer of 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, briefed Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma about this pioneering initiative, which is designed to increase awareness about the NCC and encourage youth participation. The event aims to instill discipline, confidence, and a spirit of adventure among attendees, fostering responsible citizenship and active community engagement. The Fest will include interactive sessions with state dignitaries and military officials, providing cadets and youth with exposure and inspiration. Attractions will feature informative NCC stalls, weapon displays by the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, and Territorial Army, interactions with NCC alumni, and exhibitions of local handloom and crafts. Traditional food stalls will celebrate Mizoram’s cultural heritage, enhancing the educational and cultural experience. The Chief Minister praised Col. Mohanty’s visionary efforts, highlighting the NCC’s critical role in shaping character and leadership among the youth, and expressed his intention to attend the event. This milestone initiative signifies a new chapter in NCC activities in Mizoram, fostering youth connection, inspiration, and empowerment through innovation, adventure, and cultural pride.
