Honda India Foundation (HIF), the CSR arm of all Honda group companies in India, has advanced its flagship initiative Project Buniyaad – Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhaar in Mizoram, with a formal launch ceremony held at the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) office in Aizawl. The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of State for Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, among others.
As part of the programme’s next phase, HIF installed three interactive smart boards in MYC classrooms, aimed at enriching digital learning and creating a more engaging environment for skill development. The initiative continues its focus on hospitality sector training, followed by assured job placements, in partnership with MYC and Visan Foundation. Launched in Mizoram in 2024, Project Buniyaad has already shown success in Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the North-East.
In Aizawl, the programme is expected to enhance the employability of local youth, especially in hospitality and tourism—sectors vital to the city’s economic growth. Increased skill levels are likely to raise service quality and contribute to a more robust local workforce pipeline.
