A tourism event named ‘Tlaizawng Paradise’ is currently taking place in Phuaibuang village, Saitual district, Mizoram, attracting significant crowds due to the blooming of cherry blossoms, or ‘Tlaizawng’. The two-day celebration includes various adventure tourism activities such as cave exploration, mountain hiking, and mass angling. Inaugurated by Mizoram Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama, the event aims to promote tourism, enhance the local economy, and encourage natural resource conservation. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation within local communities for sustainable tourism growth. Approximately 600 participants participated in a large-scale angling competition on the Tuivai river. Additionally, local handicrafts and handloom products are exhibited, along with cultural and musical performances, showcasing the talents of local artisans and artists. The event is anticipated to foster eco-tourism and create livelihood opportunities for the local population.
