NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) has announced the appointment of former Indian cricket captain and World Cup winner Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the brand ambassador for the BHIM Payments App, reinforcing its strategic focus on scale, inclusion, and long-term user confidence. The collaboration brings together two entities associated with trust, consistency, and dependability. Built on NPCI’s robust infrastructure, BHIM has evolved into a widely used digital payments platform, while Dhoni’s journey from a small town to national leadership mirrors the app’s growth across geographies and demographics.

Lalitha Nataraj, MD & CEO, NBSL, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision to strengthen user preference in the next phase of digital payments growth. “Our objective is to position BHIM Payments App not just as a payments option but as the preferred app for every member of the Indian household. Trust remains central to everything we do, and Dhoni represents that same trust,” she said.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni said the app’s simplicity and accessibility were key factors in his association, noting that digital platforms must ensure users feel comfortable and confident while transacting. Repositioned as “Bharat Ka Apna Payments App,” BHIM continues to expand across Tier 1, 2, and 3 markets, offering services in over 15 regional languages and optimised features for low-connectivity environments, while leveraging rewards and merchant partnerships to drive adoption.
