Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui have been working with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in several movies, webseries, it is often believed that both share aa close bond with each other.
During an interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared that both aren’t friends but have immense respect for each other. The actor shared an incident when Gangs Of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap, was screened at the 2012 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. Kashyap had shared how designers had declined to make a suit for Nawazuddin’s big day because of the way he looked.
Nawazuddin said, “It was Gangs Of Wasseypur had not released then. Of course bura lagega that people have that kind of approach to an actor. I felt ajeeb.”
He further added, “With time people saw my work and started appreciating it. If your work is good, people will appreciate it, thanks to Anurag Kashyap who introduced me to a big platform. When I went to Cannes, there were so many people who had seen my work. A lot of the films that he has directed and I have acted in, have gone to Cannes, so Anurag is a special director for me.”
The actor also mentioned that he is not friends with Anurag Kashyap both can sit for hours together without talking to each other, but he has alot of respect for the director and wants to continue with how they are.
